A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson:

  • Show a short video or a set of images related to recent social issues (e.g., poverty, misinformation, climate change).

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson:

  • Read the objective of today’s lesson.

C. Presenting illustrative examples/instances of the lesson:

  • Communication – the process of sharing messages or information
  • Media – channels or tools used to deliver messages (TV, radio, internet, etc.)
  • Information – the data or message conveyed
  • Examples: News reporting about typhoons, social media campaigns about mental health, posters in schools promoting anti-bullying

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1:

  • Continue discussion and examples from LM

F. Developing mastery (guides formative assessment):

  • Write a short article or paragraph (5–7 sentences) that defines communication, media, and information and explains how they can help address a current social issue in your community.

G. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson:

  • Why is it important to understand communication, media, and information in today’s world?
  • How do these tools help in solving problems in our society?
  • How can you be a responsible user and sharer of information?

H. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily living:

  • Using verified news sources to avoid spreading fake news on social media.
  • Creating awareness campaigns using social media platforms to support environmental protection.
